Some people may ask, “Aren’t you concerned with the “cookie cutter” appearance of your resume when using a template?” and my response is NO!

Employers are more concerned with the CONTENT of the resume not how flashy or pretty it looks.

Don’t get me wrong – appearance is a concern, but my strategy has always been the simpler the better. I prefer using a basic template that provides a nice resume layout and is easy-to-read. I let my skills & experience sell ME to the employer not the fanciness of my template.

I recommend you take some time to review a Microsoft word resume template and see if it’s something you may want to use too! Download a few of them and take them for a test drive – you want to be sure it’s compatible with your version of Word – you also want to make sure when you type in your information that it lines up correctly within the template (sometimes a template can misalign the wording if it’s too long).
